Frequently asked questions
Which Schedule III format does this produce?
Division I, for companies that follow the Companies (Accounting Standards) Rules, with the line items as amended by the MCA notification of 24 March 2021: the Balance Sheet and the Statement of Profit and Loss, plus the ratios required under Additional Regulatory Information.
How are ledgers mapped to Schedule III heads?
The tool suggests a head for every ledger from its name and Tally group. For example, Sundry Creditors become Trade payables, Duties & Taxes become Other current liabilities, and Bank Accounts become Cash and cash equivalents. You can change any suggestion. Mapping is a preparer’s judgement; the tool only adds up.
Why is my closing stock missing?
Tally keeps closing stock out of the trial balance. Enter it in the closing-stock field and it is added to Inventories and credited through Changes in inventories.
How are the ratios computed?
On closing balances, because a single trial balance has no opening figures for averages. The numerator and denominator used are shown next to each ratio, as Schedule III requires. Debt service coverage and return on investment need data a trial balance does not hold.
Is my trial balance uploaded?
No. It is read and processed in your browser.
